Healthcare equipment for country hospitals

Much-needed healthcare equipment for patients in country South Australia has been purchased thanks to your support of The Hospital Research Foundation Home Lottery.

Chemotherapy chairs for Port Lincoln Hospital, ultrasound units for Wallaroo and Port Pirie, anaesthetic infusion pumps for Mount Gambier and a ventilator for Gawler are just some of the items being funded through a $300,000 grant.

Paul Flynn, CEO of The Hospital Research Foundation, said the charity was proud to extend its support to all South Australian communities and public hospitals.

“With about 25 per cent of South Australians living outside of Adelaide, it is incumbent of us to do all we can to help improve care and treatments for these regional communities,” Paul said.

“We are proud to be able to support the great work of country health centres through this grant, made possible thanks to our generous donors and ticket buyers in the Hospital Research Home Lottery.”

Eyre and Far North Local Health Network CEO Verity Paterson welcomed the funding.

“This equipment will allow us to continue providing high quality care to our local community for both now and into the future,” she said.
